Question 1

What products does Masofit manufacture?

Accepted Answer

Masofit manufactures precision hydraulic fittings and accessories — including ISO 8434-1 / DIN 2353 24° metric tube fittings, JIC 37° flare connectors, BSPP / BSPT / NPT adapters, seamless steel tubes, tube clamps, hose fittings, seals, valves, and related accessories for industrial fluid power systems.

Question 2

What is the Masofit Hydraulic Fittings Catalogue?

Accepted Answer

The Masofit Hydraulic Fittings Catalogue is our official product reference covering metric tube fittings, flare connectors, adapters, tubes, clamps, hose fittings, and valves. You can browse it online under Downloads / Catalogue or download the PDF for part numbers, dimensions, and pressure data.

Question 3

Which standards do Masofit fittings comply with?

Accepted Answer

Our fittings are manufactured to relevant international standards including ISO 8434-1 and DIN 2353 for 24° metric tube ends, SAE J514 for 37° flare (JIC), ISO 1179-2 / ISO 228-1 for BSPP ports, BSPT taper threads, and ASME B1.20.1 for NPT. Production operates under an ISO 9001:2015 quality system.

Question 4

What is the difference between LL, L, and S series?

Accepted Answer

These are pressure series for 24° compression fittings. LL (very light) suits lower-pressure lines, L (light) covers general industrial hydraulics, and S (heavy) is for higher working pressures — up to around 800 bar depending on tube O.D. Always select the series that matches your system working pressure and tube size.

Question 5

What materials are available for Masofit fittings?

Accepted Answer

Standard options are carbon steel, stainless steel 304, stainless steel 316, and brass. Carbon steel is typically supplied with Cr(VI)-free zinc plating; zinc-nickel and stainless passivation are available on request for corrosive or marine environments.

Question 6

What surface finishes do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Carbon steel fittings are normally finished with Cr(VI)-free zinc plating. Optional zinc-nickel plating and stainless steel passivation are available. Tell us your corrosion, salt-spray, or customer specification requirements when requesting a quote.

Question 7

What pressure ratings do Masofit hydraulic fittings support?

Accepted Answer

Working pressure depends on fitting type, series (LL / L / S), tube O.D., and material. Light and heavy series metric fittings can reach several hundred bar — with S-series options up to about 800 bar on smaller sizes. Always verify the catalogue rating for your exact part number against system design pressure.

Question 8

How do Masofit part numbers work?

Accepted Answer

Masofit uses MAS / MF coding for catalogue items. Part numbers typically encode size (tube O.D.), series (LL / L / S), and configuration. Full coding rules, dimension tables, and examples are published in the Masofit Hydraulic Fittings Catalogue and on each product page.

Question 9

Do fittings carry product marking and batch traceability?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Fittings are marked MAS / MF with material grade and batch identification where applicable, supporting batch traceability from production through dispatch for OEM and quality documentation requirements.

Question 10

Are fittings pressure tested before dispatch?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Critical fittings and assemblies follow hydrostatic / high-pressure test routines as part of our quality process. Test documentation can be provided with shipments when specified on the order or quality plan.

Question 11

What tube sizes do you cover?

Accepted Answer

Metric tube fittings commonly cover tube outer diameters from about 4 mm up to 42 mm, depending on series and configuration. Imperial / flare sizes follow SAE J514 ranges. Confirm exact availability in the catalogue dimension tables or with sales.

Question 12

Do you supply nut and ferrule (cutting ring) sets?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tube connector parts such as nuts and profile rings (cutting / bite rings) are available as catalogue items for ISO 8434-1 metric tube ends, along with complete union, elbow, tee, and stud configurations.

Question 13

What thread forms are available on stud connectors and adapters?

Accepted Answer

We supply BSPP (parallel with seal), BSPT (taper), NPT, and metric port threads on studs and adapters, plus 24° tube ends and 37° flare ends as listed in the catalogue. Never mix incompatible thread standards on the same connection.

Question 14

Do you offer JIC 37° flare fittings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Masofit’s range includes 37° flare unions, elbows, and tees aligned with SAE J514 practice for systems that specify JIC flare connections alongside metric tube and BSP / NPT adapters.

Question 15

Do you supply seamless steel tubes and tube clamps?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Seamless steel hydraulic tubes (multiple O.D. ranges) and light / heavy series tube clamps are part of the catalogue range, supporting complete line installation from tube to fitting to support.

Question 16

Are hose adapters and hose assemblies available?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The catalogue includes hose adapters (e.g. BSPP 60°), hose elbows / tees, hose pipe spares, and complete hose assemblies. Share hose size, end fittings, length, and working pressure for assembly quotes.

Question 17

Do you sell seals, O-rings, and bonded washers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Accessories include NBR O-rings, copper washers, bonded seals, elastomeric seals, and related sealing rings used with port studs and adapters. FKM (Viton) options can be discussed for higher temperature or chemical duty.

Question 18

Which industries use Masofit fittings?

Accepted Answer

Typical applications include construction & earthmoving, industrial machinery, machine tools, injection & blow moulding, steel & rolling mills, oil & gas, agriculture, automotive manufacturing, chemical plants, and marine & shipbuilding hydraulics.

Question 19

Where is Masofit based?

Accepted Answer

Question 21

What information should I include in an RFQ?

Accepted Answer

Share tube O.D. / thread size, series (LL / L / S) or pressure rating, material and finish, quantity, required standards, destination, and target lead time. For custom parts, attach drawings (PDF / STEP) and any customer specification or PPAP needs.

Accepted Answer

Yes. Masofit ships domestically across India and internationally via freight forwarders and courier partners. Export packing, documentation, and Incoterms are agreed on the order confirmation.

Question 26

How should 24° compression fittings be installed?

Accepted Answer

Cut tube square, deburr, clean thoroughly, assemble nut and cutting ring correctly, and tighten to Masofit torque / turn guidance for the size and series. Support the tube near the fitting, avoid mixing thread standards, and re-check after first pressurisation.

Question 27

Do you provide a ferrule pre-assembly (biting) machine?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A pre-assembly machine for ferrule biting is listed in the Masofit catalogue for workshops that need consistent ring bite before final installation on the machine or vehicle.

Question 28

How do I choose between carbon steel and stainless steel?

Accepted Answer

Use carbon steel (plated) for general industrial hydraulics. Choose SS304 / SS316 for corrosive media, washdown, outdoor, or marine environments. Confirm pressure derating and seal compatibility with your fluid and temperature.
